75-year-old woman found murdered at Najafgarh residence

New Delhi: A 75-year-old woman was killed in south west Delhi's Najafgarh area on Friday, with police claimed they found signs of a friendly entry into the house. 
Initial investigations point to a case of robbery attempt gone awry, but police are probing the case from all angles.
The deceased was identified as Pushpa, who lived alone in her residence.
The incident came to light when police received a call on Friday morning. A police team reached the residence and found the body of her lying in the kitchen.
"The woman lived on the first floor and used to wake up in the morning. The tenants used to hear the sound of vessels from her room, but on Friday nothing was heard, which raised their suspicion. A tenant went inside the house, and found the woman lying dead," said a police officer.
He added that the victim was also suffering from anailment and, on some occasions, would fall unconscious.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Sibhesh Singh stated that the woman's body had wounds on her neck, but the case is being probed from from all angles.
"Family members of the deceased were informed, who checked the jewellery and other items and said that nothing was robbed from the house," said the DCP, adding that the entry seemed to be friendly.
On April 17, a 78-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden area.
During investigation, police found that the accused was granted entry into the house by the victim and household articles and the almirahs were found to have been ransacked.
According to Delhi Police data, around 122 cases related to crimes against senior citizens were reported in the city last year, which included 24 cases of murder of elderly citizens. Last year also saw three cases of attempt to murder and 59 cases of robbery.
Delhi Police claimed to have solved 91 of these cases, including 21 cases of murder, three cases of attempt to murder and 40 cases of robbery.
