Greater Noida: A 55-year-old man has died while his neighbor is critical after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle in Dankar area of Greater Noida on Monday afternoon.
The deceased identified as Jagatram Singh, a native of Kanarsi village was on the way to distribute his daughter's marriage invitation cards, to be held on March 11, along with his neighbour Ramesh Nagar when a speeding car hit his motorcycle. The victims were admitted to Yatharth hospital in Greater Noida where doctors declared Singh to be critical and referred him to higher centre in Delhi.
According to police, Singh died while getting treatment in the hospital while Nagar is still getting treatment and his condition is still stated to be critical.
Following the incident, the car driver fled away from the spot. "Based on the complaint filed by victim's family members, we have registered a case in the matter. The body of the deceased has been sent for the postmortem and efforts are being made to trace the driver. Meanwhile, we have seized the car involved in the incident," said a senior police official of Dankaur police station.
