Ghaziabad: A 24-year-old woman was found dead in a hotel room in Ghaziabad’s Dasna area on Sunday.
Police said that on the basis of a complaint from the victim’s family, her male friend has been booked for murder who also informed her brother about her death.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Shahzadi, who was murdered in the room of Hotel Anant located in Dasna. Her brother Danish was informed about the incident by Azharuddin (32), who was recently released on bail in a theft case.
Police said that Azharuddin and the woman had checked into the hotel on October 20 at around 11 p.m. He told hotel staffers that he would stay there for two days and on Saturday night, he left the hotel telling the staff that he was going to get food and would return in some time. He did not return but called the woman’s brother on Sunday morning and informed about the incident. After this he switched off his phone. On the basis of a complaint from Danish, resident of Dhaulana, an FIR under sections of murder was registered against Azharuddin, a resident of Masuri in Ghaziabad.
“The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem. The actual cause of death can only be ascertained on the basis of autopsy reports. The woman was going to get married on November 14. Both were in a relationship and her proposed marriage could be the reason for her death,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Wave City, Saloni Aggarwal.
