The majority of the arrested persons belonged to various districts of Rajasthan, including the mastermind of the gang who has been identified as Bhavani.
"During investigation it was revealed that the accused had hired a technician who created a server for them. The businessman collected the money and took out his share and transfered the rest to the accounts of the accused. We are trying to trace the businessman and the technician," said Ajay Pal Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar.
They charged around 100 to 200 dollars in the name of processing the loan. Police received a complaint and acting on that the gang was busted.
Revealing the modus operandi, Sharma said, "Once a customer fell into the trap, he would be asked to buy an I TUNE CARD for the value of the processing fees. The customer is then asked to share with them the 16-digit number printed on card. The money received through the card was then converted into Indian rupees with the help of their US based agent. Once the money is received, they stopped receiving further calls from the customer."
