22 injured after double decker bus turned turtle at Yamuna Expressway

Greater Noida: Around 22 passengers were injured after a private double decker bus turned turtle at Yamuna Expressway in Beta-II police station area of Greater Noida on Monday evening. Cops said that incident occurred after one of the tyres of the bus got blast.

According to police, most of the victims belong to Darbhanga district in Bihar. "The accident took place around 4 pm at two kilometers towards Agra side from zero point at Yamuna Expressway," said police.

Shravan Yadav, a close relative to one of the victim who suffered head injury told Millennium Post that he received call from the bus driver who conveyed him the information. "My uncle Hari Yadav (45), had boarded the bus around 2 pm from Delhi to reach his home in Darbanga district of Bihar. He works as a contractual labour and had taken leaves to go home. The doctors told us that he had suffered head injuries and his condition is stable" said Shravan.

Meanwhile police officials said that all the victims are stable and no casualties have been reported so far.

"Police got the information from a passerby and a team reached to the spot immediately. Police took the injured persons to nearby hospital for medical treatment and six persons were admitted to Yatharth hospital while around 16 have been admitted to Kailash hospital. All the victims are stable," said Sujeet Kumar Upadhyay, SHO of Beta-II police station.
