Millennium Post, in its exclusive report, had published that Delhi Police will be sending summons to the doctors including senior nephrologists and members of the Hospital Internal Authorization Committee to join the probe being conducted by the Special Team of Investigation (SIT).
Sources further added that the summons have been sent to them on Friday evening. However, senior police officials heading the SIT declined to divulge the details of the day as to when will the interrogation be conducted.
A summon has also been sent to Ashok Sarin, senior nephroligist of Apollo whose two secretarial staff were initially arrested by Delhi Police, sources said.
The two staff members — Aditya Singh and Shailesh Saxena — were helping the touts in getting the files cleared from the committee. Also, during investigation it came to light that Sarin had allegedly signed blank official papers and had given the permission to the duo to use them in case of emergency. Some of those documents are also in possession with the police.
Soon after the racket was busted, Sarin flew to US and had not returned as per his earlier plan and booked return ticket. However, recently he had returned and had resumed his work too.
One more personal secretary of another senior nephrologist (to whom summon has been sent) was also arrested. The committee includes hospital doctors (who were not part of the surgery), independent doctors and a government doctor.
According to sources, before booking the members of the committee and the doctors under the charges of negligence and relevant Sections of Transplant of Human Organ Act (THOA), the SIT is all set with a detailed questionnaire.
It is believed that there is a possibility that after quizzing each one of them intensively, they will be questioning in front of the arrested persons including the touts, secretarial staff, donors and recipients.
