Advocate killed, lawyers to strike work across West Bengal today

An advocate was killed in his home here on Monday prompting all members of the Bar Council across West Bengal to abstain from work on Tuesday in protest against it.

State Bar Council chairman Asit Baran Bose said its members in all courts would abstain from work on Tuesday as a mark of protest against the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.

Advocate Kishore Chanda was killed by two unidentified assailants at his home here at Stationpara on Monday morning. His family members sa

Chanda died on way to hospital. Jalpaiguri superintendent of police Akash Megharia said investigation into the incident is on and it is expected that the assailants would be netted soon.
