8 robbers loot cash, jewellery worth Rs 35L

Eight unidentified assailants on Tuesday barged into the house of a businessman in Greater Noida’s Beta-II Sector and robbed jewellery worth Rs 30 lakh and cash after taking the family members hostage on gun point.

The robbery took place around 11.30 am at former village head of Dankaur, Balkrishan’s house in Greater Noida’s Beta-II Sector. Police said Balkrishan’s sons namely Sushil and Pradeep had gone outside for work. Meanwhile, Balkrishan, his daughter-in-law and her children were present at house. 

The assailants threatened them at gunpoint and when Sushil and Pradeep returned, the attacked them from behind. After that they locked the victims in a room for almost one hour.

Police said the robbers then looted Rs 30 lakh worth of jewellery and Rs 5 lakh cash and fled the spot. One family member, Sonu reached home later to have lunch and found them locked inside the room. He let them out and informed the incident to police.

Sanjay Singh, Superintendent of Police (Rural) said “We have registered an FIR against the unidentified robbers in Kasna police station. The forensic team has taken out the finger prints from the spot. Police is investigating the matter.”
