The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police have arrested a 72-year-old man, who had done his MBA in 1972, in connection to a cheating case, in which the accused had forged crores of rupees.
The accused has been identified as Narender Chadha, a resident of Gurgaon. A case was registered against him in the year 2011 by the members of Dilkhus Industrial Association located at GT Karnal Road in Delhi.
In the complaint, it was alleged that the complex Dilkhus Industrial Estate was constructed and developed by Ansal Property and Infrastructure (P) Ltd after entering into a collaboration agreement with Inder Sain Chaddha and his two sons, Narender Chaddha and Naresh Chaddha, the land owners.
“After construction of 108 flats and offices in the complex, the flats were sold to 108 individuals through ‘Flat Buyers Agreements’ in 1980. It was later revealed that the original sellers including Narender Chadha had forged documents and mortgaged the same land with Bank of India in 1985 without the knowledge of the occupants of the flats and offices,” the complainant told police.
As the loan of Bank of India was also not repaid by the land owners, the said land got attached for recovery of dues by Bank of India from Debt Recovery Tribunal.
