30 awarded under Bill Banvao Inaam Pao scheme

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday awarded 30 people under the newly launched Bill Banvao Inaam Pao scheme of the Department of Trade & Taxes at the Delhi Secretariat.

“Through the bills uploaded, the department has been able to catch 44 traders who are issuing bills on the cancelled TIN and thus were evading 100 per cent tax. Many other traders found indulging in malpractices and tax evasion have been identified,” said VAT Commissioner S S Yadav.

On this occasion, Sisodia gave away cheques of the prize money and gift hampers to 30 winners which included 16 winners who got cash prizes of 5 times of their purchase, 14 others with gift hampers sponsored by various brands like Sagar Ratna, Pizza Hut, Bikanerwala, The Big Chill and Golden Dragon. In January, many people got cash prizes of more than Rs 10,000 including Monica who got Rs 19,000, Prabhat Sharma Rs 16,372, Manoj Rs14,522, and Divya Goel Rs 12,067. The prize winners were selected by draw of lots from the bills received under the scheme in January. The function was presided over by Shiv Charan Goel, Parliamentary Secretary to Finance Minister. Chief Secretary Delhi K K Sharma and S S Yadav were also present on the occasion.
