2 CRPF jawans on poll duty among 5 injured in road accident

Five persons, including two CRPF jawans on patrol duty for the forthcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, were injured when their vehicle met with an accident in Burdwan on Saturday, police said.

The CRPF jawans who had come from Chandigarh for poll duty were headed to Howrah from Durgapur when the driver of their vehicle lost control and hit a divider and then a tree on NH2 near Pursha here, they said. The jawans were accompanied by two sub-inspectors of Howrah City police station, the officer said. All four security personnel and the driver were injured. The security personnel were admitted to Burdwan Medical College Hospital and are undergoing treatment, he said.
