A management graduate, facing trial for allegedly raping his batch mate who later became pregnant, has been acquitted by a Delhi court after she ‘resiled’ from her statement.
‘The prosecutrix (girl) had denied that the accused on any alleged false promise of marriage elicited her consent for sexual intercourse..,’ additional sessions judge Yogesh Khanna said, while freeing the youth, a native of Chhattisgarh.
The youth was arrested on the complaint made by the girl alleging that while she was pursuing her MBA from a college here, she became acquainted with the accused who was in the same batch. During her deposition before the court, the girl denied that the accused ever forcibly established physical relations with her.
