Scientists in China’s Sichuan province have discovered the world’s largest aquatic insect which has pincer-like mandibles and a wingspan that could cover a man’s face. The thick black bodied bug with intimidating looks was found in a mountain village in Sichuan.

The insect appears an eerie combination of a cockroach, dung beetle and dragonfly with a wingspan of 21 centimetres, Zhao Li, director of the Insect Museum of West China was quoted as saying by the South China Morning Post.
