Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday said that no party in the country would be allowed to damage communal harmony in the national capital. ‘Certain parties are taking riot route to capture power as they have become impatient because of being in the opposition for years together,’ she said.
‘People should keep such parties at bay as they have no development agenda. They are all-out to divide people and spread hatred in the society. Their credentials are known to one and all,’ Dikshit said.
Taking about the development in the national capital under her rule, Dikshit said, ‘The city government during the last 15 years has developed Delhi leaps and bounds.’ She said that the food security programme is going to help around 75 lakh people in Delhi. ‘We are committed to overcome hunger in the city,’ the chief minister added.
She expressed these views at a function origanised to inaugurate the work for providing sewerage system in more than 12 unauthorised colonies under the Okhla assembly segment. Local MLA Asif Mohd. Khan and Delhi Jal Board officials were also present on the occasion.
Around 1.25 lakh people are expected to benefit from the commissioning of the sewerage system.
The laying of the total length of sewer lines of 54 kms would cost more than Rs 53 crore. The entire work will be completed within three years.
