A woman was strangulated to death and her three-year-old son abducted by two unidentified persons in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area on Saturday, police said.
According to police, the incident took place in the afternoon when two men barged into the victim’s house. ‘The duo first strangulated Mahi (29) and then abducted the three-year-old child,’ said a police officer.
‘Mahi’s husband Inam (32) was at his shop when the incident took place,’ the police officer said.
He added that at around 11 on Saturday morning three bike-borne assailants came to the area.
Three of them went to the first floor house where Mahi stayed along with her family, while one of them waited downstairs. The family’s maid Bina was present at the house at the time of
the incident.
The two assailants entered the house and asked Bina and Mahi for the keys to the lockers at gunpoint. They threatened Bina against raising an alarm.
But when Mahi tried to resist, they strangulated her with a wire and placed her body in a bed box. While leaving they took the child along, but left Bina.
