A woman was allegedly raped by her friend several times here, police said on Saturday.
In her complaint, the woman said that she was raped by Nitish Patel many times from September 2012, they said. The woman met the accused in July 2012 when he visited an office where she used to work then. They became friends and in September 2012 Nitish went to her house to meet her. After talking for a while, he asked her to marry him. The woman, a divorcee, refused but the accused kept insisting. He then raped her when she was home alone, police said.
A few days later, he called her up and wanted to have a physical relationship with her.
On her refusal, he said that he has filmed the incident and would make the video public if she does not agree to his demand. She then agreed to his demand, she said in the complaint filed yesterday.
Later, Nitish demanded Rs 1 lakh to purchase a flat. When she refused, he threatened to upload the video online, police said.
