A sleeper bus, driven by the bus conductor, flipped on the Yamuna Expressway on Thursday night in which a woman passenger died on the spot, while more than 20 people got injured. The bus carrying passengers was traveling from Ghaziabad to Lucknow. According to the police, preliminary investigation revealed that the bus driver gave the bus to the conductor for driving. They changed the seats at 11.00 pm just after the bus reached ‘Zero Point’ on the Expressway. After sometime, the conductor lost control over the wheels which resulted in the bus overturning after hitting the divider. Expressway security took the injured to hospitals where doctors declared the women dead. The deceased Shweta Tripathy was working in a Delhi-based company and was going home in Kanpur for Holi. A senior official of CAG (Comptroller and auditor general of India) Sitaram, also got injured in the accident. He was going to Lucknow with his team for an auditing assignment. Police informed that both driver and conductor fled the scene.
