A woman gave birth to a girl child in a mobile patrolling vehicle of Delhi Police at central Delhi on Friday afternoon.
The woman, identified as Rekha, works as a labourer in central Delhi’s Shanti Van. When she informed about a labour pain around 3 pm on Friday, her husband, who also works as a labourer at Shanti Van, asked for a ride from a police patrol van. Some other women working at the site also boarded the same van to help out the couple. When they being rushed to a hospital, the woman’s water broke and the child had to be delivered in the vehicle. Police officials in the patrol van (MPV Oscar-27) also made sure that the process is carried out without any complicacies. After the safe delivery, the mother and child were rushed to Kasturba Gandhi Hospital <g data-gr-id="12">were</g> both were reported to be in good health, said a senior police official.
