A woman has accused her neighbour of allegedly raping her for the past a few years, under the threat of blackmail in Chanakyapuri.

In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged that she was first raped at the Buddh Garden, during which the accused, identified as Pradeep, managed to take a few photographs of her. He allegedly used the photographs to blackmail her and continued to establish a physical relationship.

Police said that the accused lived in the same colony where she lives. The accused had initially befriended her saying that he had come from Uttarakhand and needed a friend to show him around the city.

She said that a few days later, the man asked her to accompany him to a job interview to south Delhi. The accused, however, took her to the Buddh Garden where he allegedly raped her after mixing sedatives.

The accused then began to threaten her that he would forward the photographs to her family members if she did not comply with his demands for sexual favours. On the same pretext, the accused allegedly extorted money from her.

Police said that they have registered a case under relevant provisions of the IPC against the accused and a manhunt has been initiated to nab him. The accused is currently absconding.
