With major power outages scheduled for next two days, Vardhan writes to CM
Vardhan has also apprised Kejriwal with the fact that rural areas are not getting 12 hours of power every day. A few days back even Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely had written to Kejriwal about the power crisis in the city. Following Lovely’s letter, the chief minister had issued orders stating that discoms that go in for unscheduled power cuts will be liable for fines.
Meanwhile, Delhiites will have to face major power cuts over the next two days. Power distribution companies informed on Wednesday informed that they are going to conduct scheduled maintenance work on their transformers, lines and other electrical installations on 16 and 17 January. Reliance-led-BSES (Yamuna and Rajdhani)-fed areas will be the most severely affected by this shortage in supply in comparison to areas that receive electricity from TATA Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL).
According to Delhi Transco Limited, areas connected to BSES Yamuna Power Limited on Thursday will face power cuts from 10 am to 5 pm. Similarly, BSES Rajdhani Power Limited will also face power cuts during the same period.
TPDDL will also carry out load shedding for approximately two to seven hours on 16 January. Outages will occur in major part of thee city. However, on 17 January, both sister BSES companies have announced huge power cuts of at least seven hours in major parts of the city.
