The CVC will check delay in giving vigilance clearance to government officials for their promotion and empanelments, its newly-appointed Vigilance Commissioner TM Bhasin said on Thursday.
Besides, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) will also take steps to check vexatious complaints
of corruption against the government officials.
Bhasin, former Indian Bank CMD who took over as new Vigilance Commissioner in the CVC on Thursday, took a review meeting here with the Commission officials.
"We will look for ways to check delay in granting vigilance clearance to officials," he told a news agency after taking over the new charge.
The clearance by CVC is needed for promotion and empanelment of Group A officials and senior functionaries in public sector banks and enterprises.
Bhasin said the Commission will take steps to stop vexatious complaints of corruption against the government officials. "As per decision from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), we do not take any action on anonymous corruption complaints. We will take more steps to check vexatious complaints," he said.
