A female cabin crew member with the Jet Airways has approached the police after she found out that her husband got her credit card unblocked in her absence and purchased household valuables worth Rs 1.4 lakh.
Sonal Suri, a resident of Rohini in outer Delhi, approached the Dwarka police station and registered a case against her estranged husband. They have been living separately for the past two months.
Sonal, who married Ekant Kumar two years back, told the police that two months back she left her husband’s house in Dwarka over various domestic problems and that she had filed a complaint on that also.
According to her complaint, after she started staying separately, her husband, who also worked with Jet Airways, unblocked her HDFC credit card with the help of her personal details and made purchases of valuables worth Rs 1.4 lakhs without her knowledge. She also said she came to know about this on Monday as she was not using her previous mobile phone number on which she used to receive alerts about banking transactions. When she found her card was misused by her husband, she approached Dwraka Sector 23 police station and filed a complaint.
The police have registered a case under section 420 (forgery) of the Indian Penal Code against Ekant Kumar. 'We have registered a case and are investigating the matter. We are collecting her card details to get to the bottom of the case,' said a police officer.
