In a shocking incident, two unidentified youths went to the residence of a 38-year-old widow around midnight on Sunday and allegedly threw a liquid chemical substance on her as soon as she opened the door.
The incident took place at a residential complex in North-west Delhi’s Pitampura area. Fearing an acid attack, the woman was rushed to a hospital. However, the substance wasn’t ascertained till Monday evening. Her condition is said to be stable now, said a police official.
The police immediately registered a case under relevant sections of IPC at the Maurya Enclave police station and launched a manhunt. In her statement to the police, the woman said that she had never seen the accused duo before. They were apparently aged between 25 and 30 years. The woman lived with her 17-year-old son.
In another incident, a 31-year-old man was found dead at a corporate guest house in the DLF phase-2 area of Gurgaon on Monday.
The deceased was identified as one Arindam Mishra, a resident of Kolkata, who was reportedly working as a trainee at a private company in Gurgaon. He was reportedly living in the guest house since April 1.
