Five persons, including a child, were killed after a water tanker coming on the wrong side of road, crushed them, police said on Friday. The mishap occurred on Shandy Road in Pallavaram, a busy market place.
“A man who tried to stop the lorry was first hit, followed by the two-wheeler, on which four persons were seated, including a two-and-a-half-year-old child,” police said. The driver has been arrested and a case has been filed against him.
