One labourer died and two others were critically injured on Thursday morning after a wall collapsed on them. The affected were working at an under-construction plot in Mijlis Park at Adarsh Nagar, North-West Delhi.

The police said the incident took place at around 9 am when some labourers, who were working at the site, informed the local police about the incident. A wall had fallen down on three labourers, who were digging the basement, located at A-block.

During the rescue operation, police found one labour identified as Sadhu Ram (60), who died on the spot. The other two, identified as Rahul (21) and Harinder (21), were critically injured and subsequently admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, where their condition is said to be critical by the doctors.

All labourers were native of Uttar Pradesh. They were living in Bhajanpura Dairy at a rented accommodation in Delhi. Police are investigating the case and have booked the owner of the plot and contractor, who are still on run.

‘I was working on the side and heard a loud thud. I saw the wall collapse and fall down on three labourers. One of them, Rahul, was crying for help and I raised an alarm. The police was informed. With the help of some passersby, the police took out the injured persons’, said Ram Dayal, a labourer, working on the site.
