At least 10 people, including four children, were injured when a wall collapsed at the rally venue of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah in the Bagha police district on Thursday. SP Anand Kumar Singh said the mishap took place when many people, including children, climbed up the wall to see Shah’s helicopter landing at the Babui Tola Sports Ground, the rally venue. The SP said the wall collapsed due to heavy load of people. The injured were taken to sub-divisional hospital at Bagha, from where four have been sent to district hospital Bettiah, SHO of Bagha police station Satyendra Ram said.
Shah has expressed grief over the incident. Meanwhile, in a rally at Raxaul, Shah said if BJP lost in Bihar, Diwali would be celebrated in Pakistan, a statement his rivals called was an attempt to communalise the elections. “If BJP loses Bihar elections even by chance, though victory or defeat will happen in Patna, firecrackers would be burst in Pakistan,” he told an election rally here in East Champaran district.
