Vishwanath temple to get a facelift

Famous Kashi Vishwanath temple at Varanasi is all set to get a face lift as more than Rs 20 crore would be spent for its renovation, said district magistrate of Varanasi Pranjal Yadav.

‘The Kashi Vishwanath Temple Nyas has approved a renovation project worth Rs 20.25 crore,’  he said, adding that there is no paucity of funds as the Nyas has enough bank reserves.

He said that the flooring of the temple would be changed with new granite. A new iron barricading would be constructed replacing the temporary one.

The Nyas has also decided to increase the fee of religious function by 25 per cent and the wages of the priests and employees by 15 per cent.

Now donation boxes would also be kept outside the temple.

A new service rule would be constituted for the priests and employees of the temple by Balaji temple at Triputi and Sai Baba Temple at Shirdi.
