Vendor dies of electrocution inside public toilet

A 40-year-old vegetable vendor died due to electrocution inside a public toilet in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Kishan Lal, a native of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh. He was a fruit and vegetable vendor and stayed with his brother near Shakarpur Metro Station.

According to police, the incident took place when he went to urinate in a public toilet near his kiosk in Shakarpur area. He was electrocuted after he touched a metal railing in the toilet that had live current passing through it. He collapsed on the ground. After a few minutes when another person entered the toilet he noticed him lying on the floor. He immediately made a PCR call and the team reached the spot and rushed him to a nearby hospital. He was declared dead on arrival.

During <g data-gr-id="20"><g data-gr-id="23">investigation</g></g> it was found that <g data-gr-id="21">current</g> was detected in the railing since the last several days and several complaints had also been made to the power distribution company but to no avail.
