Agitated over the demolition drive along the Hindon, a rampaging mob on Monday set ablaze a bus in Kulsera and around six motorcycles near the police check post, damaging as many as eight buses and blocking traffic on Noida Dadri road.

Around 10 am on Monday, as many as four damaged buses were on the Hindon bridge and one was ablaze. Glass panes of other buses were broken and pieces scattered on the road. From Greater Noida entry point at Hindon bridge traffic was diverted to Noida.

Across the Hindon river in Greater Noida area several protestors were seen carrying iron and wooden rods and shouting anti-administrative slogans. ‘If land was illegal then why property is registered in our names by the authority,’ said one Sukhpal Singh.

‘I have put all my savings to buy a home for my family. Now, where should I go? Earlier, police and authority employees used to come to collect bribes. As was the idea, these colonies would never be demolished,’ said Ompal Singh, another victim.  District Magistrate Chandrakant, SSP Preetinder Singh, ADM Chandra Shekhar and SDM Bachu Singh had reached the site to pacify the mob.
