Vardhan flanked by senior BJP leaders, leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel, made these remarks, while addressing a press conference on the concluding day of the election campaign in the city.
Delhi BJP in-charge Nitin Gadkari could not attend the function due to his busy election campaign schedule in the rural areas of Delhi.
‘The people have made up their mind to throw out Congress from power and enthrone BJP. The voters know that voting for Aam Admi Party (AAP) is a waste of their vote and BJP is the only alternative against misrule and corruption of Congress’, said Vardhan. He also reiterated his claim of a two-thirds majority for his party in the 4 December polls.
‘In our election campaign we presented a positive alternative agenda of good governance and transparent administration before the public, besides highlighting failures of ruling party, ‘said Vijay Goel.
Arun Jaitley said that the people of Delhi will vote BJP to avenge their suffering caused due to price rise, corruption, lack of basic amenities and hike in the power-water tariff. ‘There is a double layered of anti-incumbency in the Delhi, caused by Delhi government and the Central government,’ he added.
Sushma Swaraj said that the party will focus on booth level management in next two days. ‘Our party workers will not leave the booth till last vote is polled at that booth,’ she said.
V K Malhotra said that since 1951, the prime ministers have been holding rallies in the national capital but this time PM abandoned the city which is clear evidence that Congress has accepted its defeat.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel has suggested that the election commission should ensure paid leave for voters who go to work in adjoining townships of NCR to ensure better poll percentage.
‘Lakhs of voters registered in Delhi go to Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and other NCR towns of Delhi for their jobs. The election commission should ensure they are awarded paid leave so that they could caste their votes,’ said Vijay Goel addressing a press conference on the concluding day of the election.
