He said that Dikshit should resign from her post and renounce politics if she has any sense of morality and respect for the Constitution.
Vardhan blamed Sheila Dikshit for 15-years of misrule, corruption, loot and chaos in the national capital.
‘Her 15 years rule in the city has been a complete disaster. She has converted the city into a big slum and done nothing to save the city’s lifeline (Yamuna) from pollution. Sheila Dikshit’s entire tenure is filled with corruption, mis-governance and loot of public money but Congress government at centre protected her,’ said Vardhan.
He alleged that the Delhi government committed corruption worth more than Rs 7,000 crore during the Commonwealth Games, which was confirmed by constitutional institutions such as CAG, CBI, CVC, CPWD and Delhi High Court.
‘Despite this neither the central government has instituted any inquiry nor chief minister Sheila Dikshit is herself ready for an inquiry,’ alleged Vardhan.
He further said that days before Delhi assembly elections in 2008, the Congress government had distributed the ‘lollypop’ of provisional certificates to 50 lakh residents of unauthorised colonies.
However, not even a signal colony has been regularised so far. ‘The Lokayukta had recommended to former President Pratibha Singh Patil and also to incumbent President Pranab Mukherjee, requesting them to caution Sheila Dikshit against making false promises in future for the sake of political mileage. But she remains undeterred,’ Vardhan added.
Coming on the food security programme, BJP’s chief ministerial candidate said, ‘Delhi government has promised to supply food grains to 72 lakh people of Delhi under the scheme, but the chief minister is silent on where the food grains are?’
‘In DTC scam, health scam, education sector bungling, Jal Board bungling, power tariff scam, water leakage scam, fast-running electricity meters and water scam among others, public money worth crores has been looted,’ he alleged.
‘Despite this the chief minister and her cabinet colleagues are openly saying that they have not committed any bungling. Is the Congress government not misleading the people of Delhi?,’ asked Vardhan.
