The body of UP minister Shahid Manzoor’s daughter Abida, who was feared drowned in the Ganga in Rishikesh, was fished out on Thursday – 11 days after she was drowned.
The body was recovered from barrage area, 14 km from the scene of the incident, Laxmanjhula police station in-charge Amarjeet Singh. “It is 11 days since the mishap took place and the body is in a state of decay. It will be handed over to the girl’s <g data-gr-id="14">kin</g> without a post-mortem,” he said. Army divers, NDRF, SDRF and police personnel carried out the search operation. Abida (24), <g data-gr-id="11">student</g> at Meerut-based Subharti Medical College, had gone with her friends to Rishikesh and was washed away in the strong current after fell into the river during rafting on May 10.
