Technology has been roped in and cameras, apps and helpline numbers have become the new way to maintain law and order in the state. Today, technology is not a choice, it has become imperative for successful police machinery in any district throughout Uttar Pradesh.

The state government has undertaken innumerable steps to restore faith and trust of people in police machinery. Be it turning Lucknow into a CCTV city by installing various cameras in the entire city, or initiating Dial 100 service - a one-stop solution to all problems like eve-teasing, crime, law and order, traffic and many more, the state administration is working hard to bring peace and an atmosphere of safety among the citizens.

Formation of Special Police Officer (SPO) has set an example of Community Oriented Policing (COP).
With the sole aim of serving the humanity and working towards maintaining peace in various sections of <g data-gr-id="104">community</g>, the state police <g data-gr-id="103">has</g> ensured that crime is weeded out from every small <g data-gr-id="101">galli</g>, <g data-gr-id="102">nukkad</g> or mohalla.

Likewise, a Bicycle Patrolling Project is also on the anvil. Around 80 ultra-modern bicycles, each costing Rs 12,000, will be put into action.

The emphasis is on ‘go <g data-gr-id="105">slow’,</g> so that intelligence collection occurs and the policeman becomes friendly with that area.

Also, Z scanner vans will be pressed into action to scan the vehicles. This will help to get rid of ‘physical nakabandi’ and start ‘electronic nakabandi’.
