An application by Uttar Pradesh government, seeking withdrawal of case against serial blast accused Tariq Quasmi was filed before Special Judge, Baranaki Kalpana Mishra.
The special court, which was set-up in the district jail, would hear the application on 10 May.
Tariq is accused of terror blasts in Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi courts on 23 November, 2007.
Anti-Terrorist Squad of Uttar Pradesh police had nailed him outside Barabanki railway station with a haul of explosives on 22 December, 2007.
A case was registered in this connection at City kotwali and was being heard in the court.
On April 25 last, the district magistrate received an application from special secretary Rajendra Kumar that mentioned consideration of withdrawal case against the accused.
The court has fixed May 10 as the next hearing date.
Earlier the UP government had decided to withdraw cases against Tariq in Gorakhpur serial blast cases on May 22, 2007 in which six people were injured.
