In a meeting with Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, all the universities and educational institutions of the city shared their preparedness to make International Yoga Day on June 21 big success. The Vice-Chancellors of Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Hamdard, Jawarlal Nehru University, besides Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia also shared their ongoing Yoga campus besides promising active participation in the final celebrations.
Jamia Millia Islamia V-C informed that the university is organising Yoga classes in the mornings and evenings. Around 600 students and staff will participate in the Yoga meet on the 21st. Besides, the university will spread awareness about Yoga through Jamia Radio to its neighborhood,” said a senior officer in LG Secretariat. “Jamia Hamdard has appointed special instructors to train 800 students in Yoga,” he added. He further informed that University of Delhi has assured to hold special 45 minutes Yoga session on June 21 across all its colleges.
