Union Panchayati Raj ministry spreads awareness on local governance issues

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is carrying out an intensive awareness generation campaign during the annual Palkhi Sohla of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj during the period between 3 July – 18th July, for creating general awareness regarding importance and concept of Gram Sabha and other key issues relating to Panchayati Raj consecutively in the fourth year.  Palkhi Sohla is being used as a platform to disseminate various messages on social causes, awareness on government programmes and to motivate the people and villagers on the route of Palkhi procession.  Ministry of panchayati raj in coordination with the department of rural development & panchayati raj, Government of Maharashtra, has been conducting sensitisation campaign through Gram Sabha Dindi(s) during the period of the Palkhi Sohala for creating general awareness regarding importance and concept of Gram Sabha for the last three years.
