A Patiala House Court on Friday issued summons to senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler as an accused in a forgery case in which he was recently chargesheeted by the CBI along with arrested arms dealer Abhishek Verma. Special CBI judge VK Gupta took cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the CBI. Tytler, a former union minister, has been asked by the court to appear before it on 30 September. The matter relates to a complaint filed by the then minister of state for home, Ajay Maken, about a forged letter on his letterhead to the Prime Minister seeking easing of business visa norms in 2009. CBI in its chargesheet has alleged that the forgery was done with active connivance of Tytler with Verma.
