Two criminals wanted for various cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and Arms Act were arrested by a Special Task Force of Delhi Police, South, on Monday from Vasant Vihar.
The accused, Raju (33) and Mohd. Wasi Khan (26), were arrested by the Special Task Force from behind a multiplex movie hall at Vasant Vihar when the two were on their way to meet their other associates.
The police had received information about Raju on his alleged involvement in various cases of burglary and were suspicious of his involvement in cases of Arms Act and a murder.
The police had kept a close look on his movement and on receiving information of his arrival at Vasant Vihar, a trap was laid and the two were arrested.
The cops found a loaded pistol and two live cartridges from Raju and three live cartridges from Wasi Khan. On interrogation, it was <g data-gr-id="28">learnt</g> that Raju had earlier been lodged in Tihar Jail for seven years after being caught red-handed in a burglary. After coming out from the jail, he formed his own gang.
He was also found to be the accused in a murder case. Raju was wanted by the police in connection with a total of seven cases including Arms Act cases.
Wasi Khan was a former state and district level cricketer whose career came to an end after meeting with an accident. Reportedly, Khan had then opened a business of glow sign boards which faced closure after incurring huge losses. In order to meet ends, he got involved into crime and had joined Raju’s gang.
