On late Tuesday night, two unidentified persons were stabbed to death by three drunken men, of whom two are still absconding. The incident took place after a heated argument at Sohna Chowk in Gurgaon.
The deceased are yet to be identified. However, one Deepak, 21, has been arrested in connection with the murders. The incident took place near Samrat Bakery on Sohna Chowk, when two of the victims were having dinner.
An eyewitness told police the three drunken men approached them and had a heated argument. One of them was carrying a butcher’s knife, with which he stabbed the duo. All three of them managed to escape. Cops then examined the CCTV footage from the cameras installed at three ATMs present near the crime scene. One of the victims died on the spot, while the other succumbed to his injuries at Civil hospital. Deepak, the arrestee, is a resident of Jacobpura colony in Gurgaon.
Rajesh Duggal, deputy commissioner of police (Crime), Gurgaon, said, ‘We are interrogating Deepak. The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. A case under Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against all three accused.’
