Two more persons, including a juvenile, were apprehended on Wednesday in connection with attack on a 22-year-old Manipuri youth who was stabbed and robbed in Mehrauli area on Tuesday morning, police said. With this, six persons, including five juvenile, have been arrested in the case.
‘Four juveniles were detained in this connection yesterday itself. Today a youth, identified as Deva (19) and a juvenile were nabbed in the morning from south Delhi area,’ said a police official.
The six people, who were allegedly involved in the attack on the youth, identified as Khupgensian, have told police that they did not know him and had attacked him only to rob him, police said. Police said they have recovered the mobile phone and the wallet they have snatched from the youth. Senior police officials have been claiming that it is a case of robbery and the attack was not racially motivated.
The incident had taken place at around 4 am on Tuesday when the youth was returning to his Paryavaran Complex home after attending prayers at a nearby church.
