Two drug traffickers held with 14 kg banned substance

The crime branch of Delhi Police have arrested two drug traffickers with 14 kg of banned Pseudo-ephedrine drug, with estimated market value of around Rs 70 lakh.

The accused persons have been identified as Ramveer (39) and Amit (35), both residents of Ghaziabad. The arrest was made near Geeta Colony bus stand in east Delhi.

On Saturday, a tip-off was received by police that Ramvir and his brother-in-law Amit Kumar are involved in supply of the banned drug in Ghaziabad and Delhi.

The informant further revealed that they would come near bus stand under Geeta Colony flyover between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm along with a consignment of the drug for delivery to one of his contacts. Accordingly, a trap was laid by a team of narcotics cell.
