Two people were critically injured on Sunday here and are battling for their life after being shot at by bike-borne assailants over a property dispute, police said. The incident took place in Laxmibai Society at 7 am, a day after, a retired policeman was injured by assailants here.

Prashant and Sunder, aged between 26-28 years were inside their SUV, when unidentified gunmen pumped several rounds of bullets on them. Both are admitted at an ICU of a local hospital in Nehru Nagar. Both of them had come meet one Kripal Thakur at his residence in the society. When they were coming out of his house, four bike-borne men attacked them before fleeing from the spot. Thakur’s 100 square fleet has been grabbed by some local strongman and this is considered as the reason behind this bloody attack. Thakur had on Saturday tried to reclaim his property which had irked the grabbers. “We have registered a case at Kavinagar area and are investigating the matter. As Kripal Thakur has identified the criminals, we have formed police teams to arrest them,” said a police official.
