Two persons were arrested here for allegedly selling counterfeit electrical goods of a multinational brand worth Rs 10 lakh, police said on Sunday.
The arrested have been identified as Rajender Singh, owner of a shop, and Kamal Malhotra, who allegedly manufactured the counterfeit goods. The raids were conducted at the showroom in Bhagirath Place and the manufacturing unit in Anand Parbat Industrial Area.
The counterfeit goods recovered were 60 electrical irons, 05 laundry electric irons, 09 ceiling Fans from the showroom and 64 electrical irons, 67 unfinished electrical Irons, 4091 metal nameplates/logos and 658 corrugated packaging boxes.
‘The accused have been indulging in this for the last two years and have caused huge loss to the company and the exchequer,’ the police said.
Both the accused have been arrested for violations under sections of Copy Right Act and 103, 104 of Trade Mark Act, Harendra K Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (EOW), said.
