A 25-year-old driver of a truck died while his helper was critically injured after the truck in which they were travelling collided with another in Mathura region on Yamuna Expressway on Wednesday.
Police claims that the accident took place as the approaching truck applied sudden brakes and the one coming from behind lost control of the vehicle and rammed in. The police said that Mainpuri resident Kanhaiyalal (25) was driving and was accompanied by his helper Shailendra. He was taking the truck loaded with vegetables to Sahibabad market.
When they were in Mathura area another truck moving ahead of them at high speed applied sudden brakes. Kanhaiyalal tried to apply brakes too but lost control over the vehicle and hit the truck from behind. They were taken to Naveen hospital in Greater Noida by the rescue team where Kanhaiyalal was declared dead and Shailendra is undergoing treatment. Police have informed his family and have sent the body for postmortem.
In another accident a 15-year-old was killed while his father was critically injured in Jewar area in the wee hours on Wednesday. Police said that the victims, Vinod (42) and his son Amarjit were going towards the city on a bike when a bus of UP Roadways hit them from behind.
The impact of the accident was so high that both were thrown about 10-metres away. The victims were admitted to a nearby hospital where Amarjit was declared brought dead while the condition of his father is said to be critical. A case of rash driving and negligence against the bus driver has been registered. The driver is still at large.
