A day after the horrifying triple murder, followed by suicide of a RAW official came to light in south-east Delhi, it was learnt that the officer was under depression. Post-mortem examination of the body is likely to be done on Monday morning.
On Saturday, Amamya Chakraborty, a 52-year-old field officer in cabinet secretariat was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while his wife Jayashree (42) along with her children, Disha (13) and Arnab (17) were discovered in a pool of blood. The incident took place in their Sadiq Nagar flat in Defence Colony.
No suicide note was recovered from the crime scene. According to sources, ‘Chakraborty was under depression from the past few months. He was consuming prescribed anti-depressant pills by a doctor. Anti-depressant pills along with the prescription were recovered from the bedroom.’ The doctor who treated him has been called to join the investigation.
During investigation it was learnt that the couple were having suspicions on each other of having extra marital affairs. Jayashree had been teaching at Lady Irwin School for the past two months.
