Trans-border fusion

The city witnessed an amalgamation of the ingenuity of two neighboring countries, as Khoobsurat, a music CD by Indian poet Sangeeta Gupta and Pakistani singer Adeel Burki was launched at the Azad Bhawan, ICCR.

Burki had given <g data-gr-id="33">tune</g> to the latest poems of the Indian poet, from Sparsh <g data-gr-id="16">ke</g> Gulmohar. The prodigious Sangeeta Gupta had also read out one of her favourite poems from the book, following the CD launch.

Dr Sabit, the Ambassador of Bosnia, Satish Mehta, the DG of ICCR, along with Meeta Pandit and Raja Reddy, the renowned Kuchipudi Dancers among other eminent personalities were present at the event. Prithvi Fine Art and Cultural Centre along with <g data-gr-id="32">ICCR,</g> had also organised a musical rendition of Sangeeta Gupta’s poem by singer and composer Adeel Burki. “<g data-gr-id="19">Dilon</g> <g data-gr-id="20">ke</g> beech koi ‘Line of Control’ <g data-gr-id="21">nahi</g> <g data-gr-id="22">hoti</g> hai,” said the humble artist as he addressed the audience and related his delight of being a part of the event.

 The cheerful Gupta exclaimed that Adeel Burki had done <g data-gr-id="31">miracle</g> to her poems. It is the first ever occasion in history where an Indian and a Pakistani artist have collaborated to create a beautiful musical release. 

Adeel Burki sang some melodious songs accompanied by his <g data-gr-id="17">eloquentshayeries</g> from the album to mesmerize the audience.
