Top two posts in CISF vacant for over 15 days

The Ministry of home affairs is yet to appoint incumbents to top two posts of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) which have remained vacant for the past fortnight, even as the country observes fifth anniversary of 26/11 terror attacks. While the last director general of the CISF, Rajiv retired on 31 October, his second-in-command officer and special DG RR Verma was also transferred to the National Crimes Record Bureau (NCRB) as OSD on 28 October.

IPS officer Verma was heading the airports security of the CISF which guards 59 civil airports of the country. Sources said at present another senior IPS officer and special DG AC Verma is heading all the operations of the force even as the MHA has given the additional charge of CISF chief to BSF DG Subhash Joshi.The 1.47 lakh-personnel strong force is not only deployed for guarding the airports.
