Senior Gujarat cadre IAS officer from the 1980 batch, Vijaylakshmi Joshi, who helmed the ambitious Swachh Bharat mission as secretary of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation on Thursday dispelled media reports that she had sought voluntary retirement ( with three years of service left) owning to serious differences with the PMO. Joshi clarified that she sought VRS for personal reasons. In a letter to government Joshi explained that she wanted to opt for VRS to look after <g data-gr-id="9">90 year old</g> ailing mother.
