Delhi police have arrested two persons allegedly involved in more than a dozen cases of chain snatching in east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar area. One of the accused was nabbed by the woman whose gold chain was being snatched by them, while the other was apprehended by the police.
According to police, the accused have been identified as Tara Chand and Pradeep Jha, who are in their early twenties. The accused are graduates in arts and science respectively and were working at a call centre. They are residents of east Delhi’s Mandawli area. During interrogation, they told police that to earn quick money they indulged in the criminal activity. Chand lives with his brother, who is pursuing CA in Delhi.
On Monday at around 6 pm, they came on a motorcycle and spotted a middle aged woman wearing a gold chain. They approached her and tried to snatch her chain, but the woman nabbed the accused piling on the black Pulsar. After Jha’s interrogation, a police team conducted raids and nabbed the other accused from the area.
