Tihar staff held for bribery

The Anti Corruption Branch of Delhi police arrested a man on Thursday for accepting bribe from the brother of a Tihar jail inmate allegedly on behalf of an assistant superintendent of the prison.
The accused, identified as Subhash Chand, was caught red-handed accepting Rs 10,000 allegedly on behalf of the assistant superintendent in lieu of providing facilities and not slapping false cases on the brother of the complainant, who is lodged in the jail.

‘On 24 July, an assistant jail superintendent of Tihar called on the mobile number of the complainant and asked him to reach the parking site in front of the jail,’ V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (ACB), said in a statement.
